Full Time | Reporting to Chief Operating Officer Location Remote - global. Must be able to overlap with U.S. West Coast (Pacific Time) hours for a portion of the workday. Expectation of periodic travel to the United States (several times annually) for team meetings. Compensation Range USD $85,000 - $105,000 Overview We’re looking for a Creative Technology Engineer with a strong backend foundation and a creative, systems-thinking mindset. This role will work closely with our Head of Studio and Product Manager to help execute the product roadmap for creative technology - building the infrastructure and services that power our video, creative, and AI-driven workflows. What You Will Do • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support Origin’s creative technology platform. • Work extensively with Go (Golang) as the primary backend language. • Integrate backend systems with frontend and creative tooling (HTML and related technologies). • Connect multiple services, workflows, and data sources into cohesive systems. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Studio, Product, and Design teams to translate creative ideas into scalable technical solutions. • Explore, evaluate, and integrate AI technologies to enhance creative workflows and automation. • Contribute to infrastructure, deployment, and scalability efforts as needed. Qualifications Required • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus. • Solid, hands-on experience with Go / Golang. • Working knowledge of HTML and how frontend and backend systems interact. • Experience across multiple programming languages and environments. • Strong ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them pragmatically. • Comfort “connecting the dots” across systems, services, and teams. Good to have • Experience with AI technologies (e.g., LLM APIs, automation, creative AI tools). • Working knowledge of React and modern JavaScript frameworks for building web applications. • Infrastructure experience (cloud platforms, CI/CD, containerization, scalability). • Familiarity with video editing concepts and workflows (e.g., encoding, transcoding, creative pipelines, editorial tools). Not For You If... You wait for perfect instructions instead of starting with a draft. You get flustered by changing priorities or tight timelines. You avoid asking questions when something is unclear. You struggle to keep files, versions, and names organized. You skip meetings or forget to log your progress.
